Africa Methodism has its first woman Bishop!  Jouquina Filipe Nhanala is the newly-elected Bishop from Mozambique and I had the privilege of meeting her at the meeting of the Commission on the Status and Role of Women in Chicago. One of my favorite moments was when the group learned “Obrigado, Senhor” (a well-known tune in Mozambique) and surprised her by singing it as we surrounded her – giving thanks to God for her ministry.  Pictured here with us is Bishop Dindy Taylor from South Carolina and Mark Bowman who played keyboard and percussion for the event.  Our theme was “Dare to Dance with Dreamers” and we sang, danced, and dreamed our way to a future of even more active participation of women and other minorities in the ministry of the church.   Download cosrow_fall_08_worship_scripts.pdf
