Advent Resources
Here are three resources to check out as you are planning for Advent/Christmas:
1. JAN RICHARDSON (you may know her work, “Sacred Journeys”) is an artist and writer. You’ll want to bookmark her website which has an Advent blog called “The Advent Door: Entering a Contemplative Christmas.” You can find entries from last year as well as follow her writing for this year. You might even purchase some of her artwork get a jump-start on your Christmas cards! The Advent Door
2. My friend BRIAN WREN, writer and hymn lyricists extraordinaire, has a new book just out called “Advent, Christmas, and Epiphany: Liturgies and Prayers for Public Worship.” See more about this resource below in the next Reflection. Order Brian Wren’s book
3. If you are a long-time reader of this Reflections page,
you’ll remember LISA COLE whose church created a summer video we featured here. Lisa has just created a website for “JournEase,” a music and resource ministry for caregivers, hospice volunteers, and families of loved ones at the end of life. The Christmas season can be an especially difficult time to be grieving and transitioning. For your “Blue Christmas” worship
