We Are Family: Earl Lectures
It is my great pleasure to be here at the Earl Lectures produced by Pacific School of Religion. My history with PSR goes back a LONG way from the days when I came here every summer and winter interim to take classes in worship and the arts to supplement my studies at Saint Paul School of Theology. PSR has a wonderful tradition of the arts and so it is always such a joy to be able to contribute here through teaching or helping to lead worship.
As promised, here are the scripts from our worship for this event. I heard from so many of you after Opening Worship about how touched you were with the music, the liturgy and the “living snapshots” of family done so beautifully by our student dramatists.
It really did take a village to plan this worship. While I produced the final drafts, the ideas came from a wonderful group of staff, faculty and students. We were able to brainstorm ideas together through the amazing new technology I’ve pioneered in the Worship Design Studio. The image above is of our online brainstorm wall that became the “fodder” from which I designed the worship. If you haven’t checked it out, see more about the Worship Design Studio HERE.
